Shift Engineer – Food Production
Location: Leeds (on-site)
Shift Pattern: 12-hour shifts, 3-on/3-off basis, covering both AM and PM shifts
Salary: £45,000 + shift allowance, bonus and benefit package.

As the company continues to evolve and improve its operations, they’re looking to hire a multi-skilled Shift Engineer to join their engineering team.
The site is home to highly automated machinery and high-speed packaging lines. This role will suit someone who thrives on variety, fault-finding and problem-solving, where you will be given the autonomy and support to make an impact from day one.
This is a key role for the business, working hands-on to ensure lines run safely and efficiently while playing a part in long-term change. Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out reactive and preventative maintenance on high-speed packaging equipment and automated systems.
- Diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical faults to minimise downtime and support production targets.
- Ensure all engineering work is completed safely and in line with H&S regulations.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, identifying and implementing process enhancements.
- Support with shift handovers and maintain accurate engineering records
Requirements:
- Mandatory: 3+ years of experience in multiskilled engineering (electrical bias) or equivalent qualification (HND/NVQ Level 3 or completed apprenticeship)
- Non-negotiable: Experience in an FMCG, food, drink, or similar manufacturing environment.
- Strong fault-finding skills across both mechanical and electrical systems
- Familiar with planned and reactive maintenance routines
- Hands-on, adaptable and collaborative approach to problem-solving
