Pod Talent is proud to represent a global manufacturing business at the heart of the food and beverage industry, known for its fast-paced, high-volume production environment and a proud heritage of quality. As the company continues to evolve and improve its operations, they’re looking to hire a multi-skilled Shift Engineer to join their engineering team.

The site is home to highly automated machinery and high-speed packaging lines. This role will suit someone who thrives on variety, fault-finding and problem-solving, where you will be given the autonomy and support to make an impact from day one.

This is a key role for the business, working hands-on to ensure lines run safely and efficiently while playing a part in long-term change. You’ll be joining a supportive, close-knit team with opportunities for development and progression. If you want to work for a business that values technical skill, teamwork and continuous improvement, this is the right opportunity for you.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out reactive and preventative maintenance on high-speed packaging equipment and automated systems.
  • Diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical faults to minimise downtime and support production targets.
  • Ensure all engineering work is completed safely and in line with H&S regulations.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, identifying and implementing process enhancements.
  • Support with shift handovers and maintain accurate engineering records

Requirements:

  • Mandatory: 3+ years of experience in multiskilled engineering (electrical bias) or equivalent qualification (HND/NVQ Level 3 or completed apprenticeship)
  • Non-negotiable: Experience in an FMCG, food, drink, or similar manufacturing environment.
  • Strong fault-finding skills across both mechanical and electrical systems
  • Familiar with planned and reactive maintenance routines
  • Hands-on, adaptable and collaborative approach to problem-solving

Why Apply?

  • Join a highly respected manufacturing business with strong values and long-term stability
  • Opportunity to work on complex, high-speed machinery in a modern, automated environment
  • Clear pathway for career development and progression within engineering or leadership
  • Be part of a close-knit, supportive team making a real impact on operations
