Jon is Pod’s founder and CEO. He oversees the running of the business and helps with our future strategic plans, and makes sure the leadership team are running Pod properly to make sure we hit our future targets and goals, whilst being true to our values and mission. His raw enthusiasm for offering an added value recruitment service to our clients and candidates is something that is infectious and filters down to everyone who works at Pod Talent.
Jon’s self-pencilled nickname is ‘the Podfather’, which originally came from the fact that he was the oldest and first founding member of the business. Fast forward a few years, and he’s now a real life father too, with two kids at home. He often tries to apply his fatherly ways to the rest of the team on a night out, and can often be heard telling everyone they MUST eat some food before they get too drunk. I think a few of us wish we’d listened to that advice a bit more closely on a few occasions…
Lucy is our Managing Director and is one of the founding partners of Pod. Lucy is responsible for managing all recruitment teams in the business – both UK and internationally. Her teams recruit across Supply Chain, Logistics, Procurement, Manufacturing, R&D and Supply Chain Technology. She is one of the original Pod Squad, joining us in 2012, and has propelled herself through hard work and determination from billing consultant to one of our most senior positions over the last few years.
Lucy was actually born with a different name - Simone! When she was little she decided she hated Simone and insisted her parents change it to Snoopy. They did not agree and compromised on an alternative character from the same cartoon and therefore Lucy was born. She also has a love of cats and has two of her own – MooPing and Snoopy – as well as a love of rainbows, Chinese food, alpacas and escape rooms. However, if there’s ever a spider around she won’t be the person to help you out – she hates them more than anything!
Louise is Pod’s Head of Operations, and she has been here since day 1 of Pod in 2012! Louise joined Pod as our Operations Assistant, before quickly being promoted to Operations Manager before becoming Head of Operations in 2019. Louise is responsible for ensuring Pod runs smoothly and is risk free, across office management, technology and finance. Pod wouldn’t function without Louise, so that’s why in 2016 we officially made her a partner in Pod.
Louise is most famous at Pod for having more nicknames than anyone, ever. We keep a list of them on the wall behind her desk which is at least 10+, but our favourites are Lou, Lil Lou, Moo-Ping and The Ginger Bulldog. In fact, Lucy even named her cat Moo-Ping after Lou. Outside of nicknames, Lou is known for leading the charge on shots on a night out, loving protein bars and chicken based snacks, being an escape room fanatic and generally just being our favourite person to have around the office!
Caroline is our Head of International and joined Pod in 2015. Caroline has worn many different hats at Pod, she originally launched our R&D division before taking over international manufacturing as well, and in April 2019 she stepped up to lead our whole international division.
Caroline is known for being secretly in charge of Pod and keeps us all in line, especially Jon & Lucy. She also loves a night out and is usually the main reason we run out of prosecco during Pod social, but can be relied on to look after people and make sure we don’t get into too much trouble as a big noisy group! I’m sure many pub landlords in the Old Street area are big fans of Caroline.
Rob leads our UK Logistics & Customer Services and Manufacturing teams, and joined Pod in 2016 having been living out in Australia and leading a logistics recruitment team there. Rob started at Pod as a Principal Consultant for Logistics, before shortly taking over as the manager of that team, and quickly taking responsibility for Manufacturing as well. On top of that, he implemented our new CRM system in 2018, so all of that combined led to him becoming a partner in 2019.
Outside of work Rob, Rob is known for having a number of different versions of himself. Inside of work we have “TROB – training Rob” and “PROB – profile Rob” but our favourite is definitely “FROB – fun Rob” who comes out after a few drinks on a night out. Rob is also now “DROB – Daddy Rob” to his new puppy Neville, who frequents the office on Friday afternoon, much to the delight of everyone at Pod HQ. You can see some pictures of Nev on our Instagram!
Chris leads our UK Supply Chain Planning and Supply Chain Technology teams and joined Pod in 2017. Chris joined us originally to launch our new Supply Chain Technology division and in April 2019 he took over management of the Planning team as well.
Chris is known for his Irish charm, and loves to live up to his stereotype by being the one who can always be found leading a Pod social. He is also incredibly competitive, and likes to think of himself as the master of all pub related games, especially darts and pool (sorry Chris, but this just isn’t the case!). More so, Chris is famous for always getting sunburnt, as pale as he is he always thinks he doesn’t need suncream, and we regularly get to enjoy Chris being bright pink on a Monday morning after a sunny weekend! Thankfully we don’t have too many of those in London.
Alice is our Head of Talent and is responsible for our internal talent strategy, whether it be hiring new podlets, training and onboarding, or future learning and development. She used to work for one of our clients – Danone – and decided she loved working with us so much as a client, she wanted to come and work for us as an employee, and she joined us in 2018.
Alice is a joy to have around the office but, and I’m sure she’d agree when she reads this, does like to add a bit of extra ‘dramatic flair’ to any situation. She likes to rush around the office to and from meetings, or even the loo, and often ends up trotting rather than walking or running – often slower than a usual walking pace!
Ross leads our UK Procurement team and joined Pod in 2016 having previously built his career recruiting in the manufacturing and quality assurance space. Ross joined Pod in 2016 and in April 2019 stepped up to lead the UK procurement division.
Ross is known for being “our big friendly giant”, and despite being a 6’6 tall rugby player, he is also affectionately known as Daddy in the office, as he is always looking out for everyone. Ross can also always be relied on for using his strength for the benefit of the team, most famously moving a bank of 10 desks across the office single-handily, after it took 6 of us to move them the day before, and carrying an 8 foot tall Christmas tree for a mile across London for our office decorations.
Jamahl leads our supply chain & logistics division within team international and joined Pod from DSJ in 2018, recruiting across Western Europe and North America. He operates across three core areas: Supply Chain Transformation, Supply Chain Planning/S&OP, and Corporate Logistics.
Jamahl quickly made himself known on the social scene of Pod, with a love of Craig David and garage music, and most importantly, SHOTS. He has also massively increased the snack intake of the rest of the International team, and can often be seen nipping out to the shop mid-afternoon and returning with armfuls of treats. We are very glad to have Jamahl here but our waistlines probably aren’t!
Alex joined Pod in 2017 having previously worked in logistics recruitment at Michael Page, and started at Pod as a senior recruiter in our logistics team. Alex still works within our logistics team, but in 2019 he became our Client Solutions Manager for start-up and scale-up businesses, and mainly focuses on recruiting end to end supply chain roles in this space.
Alex fancies himself as a bit of a joker around the office, and can often have random outbursts, especially during quiet moments in the office. He is great value on a night out, and has some “exceptional” dance moves which he is known for showing off. He gets extra love from the Pod Squad because he brings in his flatmate’s dog into the office every so often, who is great to h
