Jon is Pod’s founder and CEO. He oversees the running of the business and helps with our future strategic plans, and makes sure the leadership team are running Pod properly to make sure we hit our future targets and goals, whilst being true to our values and mission. His raw enthusiasm for offering an added value recruitment service to our clients and candidates is something that is infectious and filters down to everyone who works at Pod Talent.
Jon’s self-pencilled nickname is ‘the Podfather’, which originally came from the fact that he was the oldest and first founding member of the business. Fast forward a few years, and he’s now a real life father too, with two kids at home. He often tries to apply his fatherly ways to the rest of the team on a night out, and can often be heard telling everyone they MUST eat some food before they get too drunk. I think a few of us wish we’d listened to that advice a bit more closely on a few occasions…
Lucy is our Managing Director and is one of the founding partners of Pod. Lucy is responsible for managing all recruitment teams in the business – both UK and internationally. Her teams recruit across Supply Chain, Logistics, Procurement, Manufacturing, R&D and Supply Chain Technology. She is one of the original Pod Squad, joining us in 2012, and has propelled herself through hard work and determination from billing consultant to one of our most senior positions over the last few years.
Lucy was actually born with a different name - Simone! When she was little she decided she hated Simone and insisted her parents change it to Snoopy. They did not agree and compromised on an alternative character from the same cartoon and therefore Lucy was born. She also has a love of cats and has two of her own – MooPing and Snoopy – as well as a love of rainbows, Chinese food, alpacas and escape rooms. However, if there’s ever a spider around she won’t be the person to help you out – she hates them more than anything!
Louise is Pod’s Head of Operations, and she has been here since day 1 of Pod in 2012! Louise joined Pod as our Operations Assistant, before quickly being promoted to Operations Manager before becoming Head of Operations in 2019 and Operations Director in 2020. Louise is responsible for ensuring Pod runs smoothly and is risk free, across office management, technology and finance. Pod wouldn’t function without Louise, so that’s why in 2016 we officially made her a partner in Pod.
Louise is most famous at Pod for having more nicknames than anyone, ever. We keep a list of them on the wall behind her desk which is at least 10+, but our favourites are Lou, Lil Lou, Moo-Ping and The Ginger Bulldog. In fact, Lucy even named her cat Moo-Ping after Lou. Outside of nicknames, Lou is known for leading the charge on shots on a night out, loving protein bars and chicken based snacks, being an escape room fanatic and generally just being our favourite person to have around the office!
Caroline is our Head of International and joined Pod in 2015. Caroline has worn many different hats at Pod, she originally launched our R&D division before taking over international manufacturing as well, and in April 2019 she stepped up to lead our whole international division. Caroline is an expert in senior international supply chain and operations recruitment, with over 10 years of experience focusing exclusively on this area, so if you work with Caroline you can be confident of her knowledge and expertise.
Caroline is known for being secretly in charge of Pod and keeps us all in line, especially Jon & Lucy. She also makes sure that everyone at Pod is safe and healthy on a day to day basis, and during any social events or nights, we're sure that local pubs and bars are glad she is part of the team. Caroline is a massive part of the Pod culture, both in the office and on the social side too.
Declan joined the Podsquad in September 2020 as a senior manager to lead three of our UK teams - Procurement, Logistics and Manufacturing. Declan joins us with a wealth of experience in UK procurement and supply chain recruitment, and has come on board to support us in our mission of being the go to supply chain & procurement recruitment business in our market.
Declan will be personally focusing on senior level UK procurement assignments,
Seb joined us in 2019 and specialises in recruiting Logistics specialists at management level all over the UK. He’s been on the full Pod journey….we started working with Seb as a candidate when we placed him into a role, where he then became a client and we placed into his team, before he decided on a career change into recruitment and now works for us!
Seb fancies himself as the master of puns and cheesy ‘dad jokes’, and can often be heard trying to interject conversations with his made-up jokes, often with varying levels of success. He also likes to enthusiastically say everything is ‘excellent’ – some might say he overuses it! Seb also has a reputation as being a sleepy head (and a lightweight, sorry Seb!) after falling asleep in a pub on his first night out with Pod.
Gabi is our Team Leader for our newly created division at Pod, which focuses on end to end supply chain roles in planning, logistics and procurement at junior to specialist level. Our approach to this market is slightly different to our usual approach, as the team work on a team basis on all roles. This means you get multiple experienced consultants working for you, giving you the knowledge of their combined networks and speed of delivery. The team are therefore able to turn shortlists around in a matter of days, which is often needed for both permanent and fixed term contract roles at this level.
Gabi’s personality is infectious in the office, and everyone knows who she is! She loves sparkly things and keeps a sequin dinosaur as a good luck charm on her desk (that a lot of people are jealous of to be honest!). She also loves Disney, especially the little mermaid, selfies with goats, glitter and cocktails. Lastly, Gabi has a number of nicknames in the office, the best one being Bakwa, so feel free to call and ask for her by that name!
Ross specialises in international procurement recruitment at mid and senior level across Europe and further afield, specialising in the food and beverages market.
Ross is known for being “our big friendly giant”, and despite being a 6’6 tall rugby player, he is also affectionately known as Daddy in the office, as he is always looking out for everyone. Ross can also always be relied on for using his strength for the benefit of the team, most famously moving a bank of 10 desks across the office single-handily, after it took 6 of us to move them the day before, and carrying an 8 foot tall Christmas tree for a mile across London for our office decorations.
Carl is a Senior Consultant in our UK Operations team and joined Pod in 2018. Carl specialises in logistics and production operations roles from shift leader to senior manager level.
Carl is most famous for being our darts master and can often be found beating everyone at darts in the office at lunchtime and after work. We hate to mention it, but in our recent darts tournament despite sailing through to the final, Carl was beaten in his final match by our CEO, Jon Dweck. So if you fancy yourself as a bit of a darts superstar, be sure to stop in and challenge Carl, he CAN be beaten (just not very often).
