Pod Talent are currently working with a Global Packaging Organisation across Europe searching for a Global Category Manager Excellence position. With this position you will be responsible for building the Procurement community with globally harmonized and standardized processes. You will be leading initiatives that will drive change management, communication and implementation across all regions and BUs.

Design, deploy and maintain best-in-class category management and sourcing processes and standards across the Global Procurement Function.
Be the Business owner for the Category Strategy Development Framework.
Drive e-Sourcing activities and encourage internal adoption, working with Category owner to identify appropriate sourcing levers
Support category teams with services such as Spend analytics, cost modelling, fact-based negotiation, game theory, etc. and develop training material that will elevate procurement in advanced sourcing techniques and category management.
Stay up-to-date of current trends and proactively promote new processes and the use of new tools and methodologies
Support the digital transformation of the Procurement function by defining the priorities and identifying/evaluating relevant digital tools.
Facilitate sharing of best practices across the different BUs and Regions.
Build rapport and secure buy-in from cross-functional stakeholders for major procurement initiatives and act as procurement ambassador.
University degree, Masters degree preferred.
10+ years’ experience in category management, preferably across directs and indirect categories, in a global organization.
Deep expert as a practitioner with the use of advanced sourcing levers and technology (cost modelling, e-Sourcing, e-Auctions, Sourcing Optimization, tail spend management)
Expert in use and deployment of e-sourcing tools (e-sourcing, e-auction, sourcing optimization, Ariba, Coupa, Trade Extensions, Keelvar, GEP…)
Expert in using advanced negotiation and sourcing techniques.
Extensive knowledge of procurement tools and data, content and automation.
Proven ability to work in a cross-functional team in a multicultural organisation.
Ideal candidate has a minimum of 5 years’ experience in consulting and can demonstrate value delivery through application of world class category management and sourcing techniques.
