Laboratory Manager - Pharmaceutical Quality Control - West Sussex - £50,000

One of the fastest growing pharmaceutical brands in the world are seeking an assured Quality Control expert with a demonstrable track-record in Laboratory Management to join their world-class team as they enter an exciting new era. In this brand new role, created by the business due to recent expansion, you will be leading a team of QC Scientists and managing their state of the art testing laboratory.

Your key projects will involve managing the relationship between testing and production, through to distribution, collaborating with their enviable supply chain function. A strong understanding of planning and allocation is key, as is the ability to manage quality systems and strong management skills (in small or big teams; either is fine) to help drive the growth of the Quality Control function.

The business itself is high commercial, extremely innovative in their approach, but above all a collaborative and nurturing environment. The ideal person for this position will be firm when required as a leader, but show understanding and a team-oriented mindset. The staff are a tight-knit group and it is vital that the incoming Laboratory Manager suits the culture the business has spent years building!

Key responsibilities as Laboratory Manager:

  • Drive continuous improvement within the QC function through CAPA and change management control.

  • Develop the QC team and strive to develop the capability of the QC testing lab

  • Liaise with key business stakeholders within operations and supply chain to ensure smooth transitions between testing, production, packaging and distribution.

  • Maintain quality systems (LIMS) to drive compliance and data insights.

Essential experience required:

  • Strong background in Laboratory Management (testing labs, rather than research labs) and Quality Control within a pharmaceutical business (medicines, biologics, generics, steriles etc)

  • Experience of managing a team of any size.
