Pod Talent is proud to be partnering with a leading European logistics provider. Following the success of their pan-European growth in the past years and operational restructuring, we are now looking for a Head of Key Accounts to drive the company’s retail partnerships and commercial frameworks as part of their ambitious plan to double the size of the business by 2030.
As the business enters a new growth phase, this role provides an opportunity to shape and centralise its European retail strategy. You’ll take ownership of building governance and frameworks for retailer partnerships while driving commercial negotiations, tenders, and account growth. This is an influential role requiring both strategic, commercial and operational understanding of supply chains.
Reporting to the Commercial Network Director, this is a hands-on strategic position where you will balance central leadership with close collaboration across European markets. The successful candidate will be expected to strengthen key retailer relationships, introduce structure across regions, and play a pivotal role in delivering their ambitious growth plans.
Key responsibilities:
- Act as senior point of contact for all retail commercial relationships, managing tenders, contracts, and negotiations.
- Develop and implement central retail strategy and governance frameworks, while aligning with local market dynamics.
- Drive account planning and organic growth initiatives, including gap analysis, pilots, and sustainability projects.
- Oversee the full contract lifecycle, from onboarding to renewal, ensuring compliance and profitability.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Commercial Directors, Regional MDs, Operations, and Finance to support business objectives.
What we are looking for:
- 8-10 years of senior account management experience in retail, FMCG and packaging logistics, with strong retailer-facing exposure.
- Proven track record in contract negotiation, tender management and account growth at the European level.
- Deep understanding of retail supply chains, flows, and asset management.
- Fluent in German & English (additional European languages an advantage).
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, able to influence across regions.
- Willingness to travel extensively across Europe.
Why this role?
- High-impact strategic role in a growing, sustainability-driven logistics business.
- Opportunity to build and centralise retail strategy across Europe.
- Direct influence on some of the region’s largest retailer partnerships.
- Future career growth as the central retail function expands.
