Procurement Manager - EMEA Logistics Category - West London (Flex Home Working) - £65,000 - £75,000 + £5,000 Car Allowance + Package - 12 Month Fixed Term Contract

Over the last 12 months this global FMCG business has grown and evolved in line with the market. Capitalising on more ecommerce driven channels and innovative new products, they are looking to grow their EMEA Procurement team to cater for increased demand. Logistics is one of their more complex categories - especially given the current challenges surrounding Brexit and Covid - therefore they are looking to hire an experienced negotiator with strong commercial acumen and a strong track-record in the Logistics Procurement Category.

The role

  • Reporting into the Head of Indirects Procurement, this role will take a lead in all areas of the Logistics Category (c.£120M spend)

  • They will have a specific initial focus on the Transport category - performing a strategic assessment of current 3PLs and the potential need to change suppliers

  • They will help deliver against the operational running of 8 DCs with supplier performance reviews - looking at any opportunities to reduce cost

  • They will be responsible for running commercial tenders for all sea, air and road freight contracts - looking at innovative ways to reduce current freight costs

  • They will work closely with the Supply Chain and Commercial teams to improve collaboration and help align procurement processes across the business

Skills and Experience required

  • First and foremost - strong procurement experience within logistics. Comfortable designing and rolling out logistics category strategies

  • In depth operational understanding of the logistics category and a track record of reducing cost and improving performance in this space

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels - from warehouse to head office

  • Must have the experience and appetite to get hands on within the category as well as designing the overall category strategy

  • Excellent procurement processes - a track record of cradle to grave procurement is a must
