Pod Talent are currently working exclusively with a Global Chemicals Organisation across Europe on a Global Category Manager Logistics position. As a Category Manager you will be expected to deliver strategic solutions to consolidate supplier base and define, measure, analyse and improve supply chain processes within the Logistics Category. This role will report to the Global Indirect Procurement Director.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement Category Strategy for Logistics Services in alignment with business units / segments and production plants

  • Manage risk by analysing current/future market transport conditions and defining contingency plans to ensure critical supply needs are met

  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with key suppliers, providing high level of issue resolution where necessary (quality and service);

  • Negotiate category's procurement activities, strategic sourcing, supplier management and contract management

  • Collaborate with regional lead buyers to scale up implementation across our major countries

  • Proactively engage internal stakeholders to align objectives, jointly develop category strategies and communicate market and sourcing information

  • Improve the logistics toolkit and system landscape for Transport Procurement

  • Establish and evaluate performance metrics for category and own cost saving results

Key Requirements:

  • Degree level educated in relevant discipline e.g. Business, Economics, Engineering, Supply Management or Operations.

  • Minimum 5 working years exp. in Logistics procurement on Regional/Global level

  • Strong background within Production/Manufacturing environment.

  • Strong analytical skills with a deep understanding of financial analysis

  • Self motivated & hard worker
