Global Sourcing Manager - Software and Services - Global Procurement Team - Connecticut/Boston

World Renowned Professional Services Company - $130,000 - $160,000 + Bonus + Package

This company is a prestigious professional services business famed for supporting some of the world's biggest and most complex companies through all areas of business and technology transformation. With offices across the world, procurement plays a pivotal role in designing and executing global commercial agreements across all key service areas. Technology is a core service offering and as such, they are looking for a commercially astute IT procurement professional with deep technical knowledge and a track record of developing long term strategic relationships.

The role

The Global Sourcing Manager for Software and Services will report into the Global IT Procurement Director and work closely on a day-to-day basis with the global technology leadership team. Designing and implementing the procurement strategy for software and services, the global sourcing manager will be expected to take the lead on all complex supplier negotiations with suppliers such as Microsoft and Oracle. These will be long term agreements with a focus on creating strategic alliances focused on quality delivery for the global business and a secondary focus on post contract savings. In addition, this role will focus on more short-term strategic sourcing projects for niche vendors - setting up new suppliers with global agreements and managing delivery KPIs for the business.

The Global Sourcing Manager will play an active role in procurement process improvement and partnering with c-suite stakeholders to gain an early insight into business requirements. Covid has helped improve procurement's buy in even more so than before - now Procurement can be involved from the inception of key projects acting as a subject matter expert in all areas of risk avoidance, contractual agreements and procurement innovation.

What skills and experience are required?

  • Strong software category procurement knowledge: All applicants must have in depth procurement knowledge across software and professional services - a track record in complex licensing agreements is a must have

  • Excellent internal stakeholder management skills: You will be working with intelligent and demanding stakeholders who know technology - you must be able to work efficiently to come up with answers to complex procurement problems before communicating these in a succinct and informative manner

  • A proactive and inquisitive attitude: As with any large business, the structures and challenges can be complex - applicants must be comfortable reaching out to the relevant stakeholders and good at identifying problems before solving them in a timely manner

  • Full end to end procurement knowledge: This position is an opportunity to get involved in all areas of strategic sourcing, contract negotiations and SRM - it's important that applicants can showcase this experience and tangible examples of savings delivered
