EUROPEAN PROCUREMENT MANAGER - FOOD + NON-FOOD CATEGORIES - SURREY/ FLEX - £350-500/day OR FTC

Brand new opportunity to lead all procurement activities for a global food chain!

I've partnered with one of the worlds largest food brands to recruit a strategic procurement manager to lead all buying activities across Europe. Founded on innovation and the love of good food back in the 60s, they have gone from strength to strength now operating across 7000 restaurants globally, with impressive growth plans including a further 2000 stores in the next 10 years.

The Procurement manager will have autonomy over the entire procurement portfolio, including both food and non-food categories with a spend of over £100m. Sitting at the core of the supply chain function, this role will own the supplier commercial relationship, price negotiation, performance to contract, risk management and corporate governance.

European Procurement Manager role profile:

  • Responsible for creating and executing a category strategy that delivers the short and long-term goals of the EU market, managing a complex matrix of internal and external relationships

  • Ownership of the business unit cost of sales performance working closely with franchisees, internal stakeholders and suppliers to identify cost reduction opportunities

  • Own the regional risk management strategy for the business unit whilst managing EU supply base risk management within BREXIT context

  • Work cross functionally with marketing, packaging, project and the wider supply chain function

  • Performance management of suppliers to ensure uninterrupted supply and right first time quality

The Ideal Procurement Manager will have:

  • A strong understanding of procurement within a food setting - whether retail, manufacturing or ideally restaurants.

  • A minimum of 3 years' experience across end-to-end procurement

  • Proven success in managing cost & suppliers as well as improve work processes and leading change in a complex and fast paced environment.

  • a self-starter mentality with the ability to solve complex problems.
