Manufacturing Innovation Lead: Sustainability Start-Up - Central London

I'm partnered with one of the most exciting green start-ups in the UK. With a mission to rid the world of disposable plastics, this business designs and produces unique packaging solutions which use biodegradable materials, including bottles, sachets, and waterproofing tech. They like to do things themselves, so design, engineer and manufacture their products in-house at their base in London. They have some really exciting partnerships secured with some of the biggest brands in the food industry and are forecast to grow considerably in the next couple of years.

They seek a Manufacturing Innovation Lead from a background in Chemistry, Manufacturing or Engineering to drive innovation within their production facility and enable rapid scale-up of manufacturing from lab, to pilot, to mainstream production. You'll be working with internal R&D, Engineering & Production teams as well as with external manufacturing partners to ensure the business can mobilise their manufacturing capacity effectively. This role is all about finding solutions and identifying opportunities, so a highly adaptable problem solver will be perfect! You'll also help the business run trials, drive sustainability and optimise the performance & cost of manufacturing for new product lines.

To succeed in this exciting role, you will ideally:

  • Have a background in Chemistry, Engineering, Manufacturing, Process Engineering or Chemical Engineering

  • Have worked in the cosmetics, personal care or supplements industries, but other industry experience will be considered

  • Possess strong experience scaling up manufacturing processes and have had exposure to in-house and third party manufacturing (though candidates with one of these will be considered)

  • Have a strong trouble-shooting ability and a track record of implementing technical solutions within production

  • Have demonstrable project management experience

This is a unique opportunity to join a business playing a critical role in fighting pollution, plastic waste and climate change. If you have experience within a manufacturing & production role, are passionate about the environment, and want to join a business filled with high-calibre and highly social individuals, apply now! Alternatively, you can email your CV to Alex at to schedule a confidential conversation.
