About the role:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive sanitation programs, policies, and procedures that comply with industry standards (SSOP, BRC, USDA, FDA, SQF). 
  • Create and manage a master sanitation schedule and related documentation.
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure the cleanliness and sanitation of manufacturing facilities and equipment.
  • Oversee sanitation chemical supply and inventory management.
  • Lead, train, and supervise sanitation teams, ensuring adherence to all necessary procedures and regulations.
  • Collaborate with regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal sanitation and safety regulations. - Partner on root cause analysis and corrective and preventive action plans to resolve issues and enhance the sanitation program.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and advancements in sanitation practices.

About you:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5-7 years of proven experience in sanitation management within the food manufacturing industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of chemicals used in the cleaning process and the manufacturing process and equipment parts/systems.
  • Familiarity with GMP, SQF audits, FDA, PMO, HACCP, and OSHA requirements.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including working with International stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
  • Fluency in Spanish is required.
  • Flexible around working patterns-weekend working will be required, at least in the initial 6 months.
