What you'll be doing as Operations / Supply Chain Director
This is a senior leadership role with primary accountability for downstream operations, covering warehousing, fulfilment, transport and delivery performance across multiple regions, while partnering closely with upstream and planning teams to ensure end-to-end flow and availability. Reporting into the executive team, you will set the long-term operations and logistics strategy, lead network and systems transformation, and build scalable delivery capabilities to support international growth across D2C and B2B channels.
Key Responsibilities for the position of Operations Director / Supply Chain Director
- Own and deliver the global operations and supply chain strategy, aligned to business growth and profitability targets
- Provide executive-level leadership to operations, logistics and planning teams across multiple geographies
- Take full accountability for 3PL strategy, contract negotiation, network design and long-term partner performance
- Lead capacity planning and footprint strategy for warehousing, fulfilment and transport as the business scales
- Own end-to-end planning governance including demand, supply, S&OP and IBP processes
- Partner with Finance and Commercial leadership on budgeting, forecasting, working capital and margin improvement
- Drive major transformation initiatives across systems, processes and operating models
- Establish clear performance management frameworks using KPIs, service metrics and cost benchmarks
- Ensure strong governance around compliance, risk management and cross-border trade requirements
- Act as senior sponsor for continuous improvement and operational excellence programmes
- Build leadership capability within the function, developing succession plans and future talent pipelines
Key Experience Required for the Position of Operations Director / Supply Chain Director
- Significant senior leadership experience in supply chain, logistics or operations within consumer, retail, FMCG or product-led environments
- Proven ownership of multi-country supply chains with complex 3PL and carrier networks
- Strong background in strategic planning, S&OP / IBP and executive-level decision making
- Experience leading large-scale change, transformation or international expansion programmes
- Track record of managing substantial budgets and delivering cost, service and working capital improvements
- Experience operating across both D2C and wholesale / B2B routes to market
- Comfortable operating at executive and board level, with the ability to influence cross-functional priorities
- Background in both large corporates and high-growth or PE-backed businesses is advantageous
- Strong commercial mindset with the ability to balance service, cost and growth objectives
