We’re supporting a fast-scaling logistics and fulfilment business as they look to hire a Carrier Performance Manager to take ownership of their outbound carrier network across Ireland and the UK.

This is a hands-on, commercially focused role with real influence on cost, performance, and network strategy. You’ll sit at the intersection of operations and commercial, owning carrier relationships, driving savings, and improving visibility across transport spend.

The role of Carrier Manager

You’ll take full ownership of carrier performance and procurement, ensuring the network is cost-effective, scalable, and aligned to customer needs.

Key areas include:

  • Managing relationships with a range of parcel carriers across Ireland and the UK
  • Leading contract negotiations, rate reviews, and ongoing benchmarking
  • Owning carrier spend, including invoice validation and cost control
  • Identifying and recovering billing discrepancies and hidden charges
  • Reporting on performance, cost per shipment, and margin impact
  • Supporting commercial teams with pricing and tender input
  • Managing procurement of operational consumables (packaging, labels, etc.)
  • Driving continuous improvement across processes to reduce cost and improve efficiency

This is a role where you’re expected to make an impact quickly – identifying savings opportunities and tightening cost control from day one.

Experience required for the position of Carrier Manager

  • Experience managing carrier or courier networks within logistics, eCommerce or 3PL
  • Strong track record of negotiating carrier contracts and rate cards
  • Commercially sharp, with the ability to analyse complex pricing structures
  • Comfortable working with invoices, contracts, and detailed billing data
  • Confident challenging suppliers and resolving disputes
  • Experience across procurement and supplier management

Nice to have:

  • Exposure to multi-client 3PL environments
  • Understanding of cross-border shipping or international carrier pricing
  • Knowledge of dimensional weight pricing or packaging optimisation
